About GOMEL STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

The Gomel State Medical University is amongst the best medical universities in Belarus. Its history dates back to 1990. It was established through the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR on November 14, 1990 (No. 284) and the order of the Minister of Health of the BSSR on November 20, 1990 (No. 188).

Its purpose was to train doctors and highly skilled specialists, particularly for the regions affected by the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster in Gomel and Mogilev.

This university operates with five faculties: medical, medical diagnostic, faculty for foreign students, pre-university training, and advanced training and retraining.

It boasts a student body of over 3,857 individuals, including graduate students and clinical residents. Among them are 750 foreign students from 29 different countries who are instructed in both Russian and English.

Admission Process
